Please make yourself familiar with these key elements:
- Innsbruck Greeters are volunteers, not professional tour guides.
- A greet is a meeting with a local who will show you parts of her / his home town or its surroundings. A greet is different from a classical guided tour.
- Please submit your request at least one week in advance .
- We promise we’ll do our best to find a greeter for you. We can’t guarantee it, though.
- Greeter walks are for singles or groups of up to six people.
- All Innsbruck Greeter walks are carried out on foot or using public transport.
- A greet takes somewhere between 1 and 4 hours (mostly around 2 hours)
Once we’ve found a greeter, we will contact you directly by email. If we are unable to organize a greet for your visit, we will contact you as well.
How to improve your chances to meet with a greeter
- Make your request well in advance.
- Be flexible with your time schedule. Tell us your possibilities.
- If you speak multiple languages, tell us.
- Make yourself / yourselves interesting. The more personal your request is the more it will stick out and catch the attention of your potential greeter.
- Tell us about yourselves. What are your general interests? Who are you?
