We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Innsbruck. We met Rudi who took us around the north & east side of Innsbruck. Taking us to places we would not have seen otherwise & talking about what we saw along the way.
I would recommend Rudi to anyone looking for insight to Innsbruck. Thank you for an enjoyable morning.
Our greeter Angelika was a great host. She guided us among the city, showing us the market, the main attractions and the places where locals use to meet.
We received this review in Italian and publish it in its original language. An English translation follows.

Angelika was very kind and helpful. We were with 2 children and she toldthem the legends of the giants present in the center of Innsbruck and then she took us to see a part of the city less frequented by tourism. A beautiful experience, definitely to be repeated. Thanks again to Angelika and to you for the organization!
Michi gave up her weekend to come into town and spend it showing off her wonderful town. I had a wonderful day, getting real local insights and history from a local’s perspective. It is by far the best way to see a new city.

In addition she gave me great recommendations for the next day and I had a fabulous hike at Seefeld. Overall I loved Innsbruck, and having the chance to spend a day with a local really made the trip.
Having visited Innsbruck like 4 times before, this was the first time with a greeter. We went on a lovely walk around the old town. I now know where to go out for drinks and dancing.
I was impressed by the wonderful fall colours of the trees and the mountains that surround the beautiful villa’s we saw next.
“Saggen”, a neighbourhood with beautiful villas in the fall
Silvia was so nice telling me about the neighbourhood and specific buildings, about the warm wind (Föhn, 20 degrees end of October!) and why it’s so nice to live in Innsbruck. We passed the river. The Hofburg park was fun. We sat on a bench just to take in the sun and all the pretty colours. Max her older dog enjoyed some rest after the big walk we did. And I could cuddle her, she’s really sweet.
Thank you Silvia for the company and the new parts of Innsbruck you showed me. I really enjoyed it.
We had a wonderful time with Rudi. He showed us an Innsbruck that we wouldn’t see as tourists. It was a very educational and pleasant morning. Thanks Rudi!!!!
We had a lovely time with Rudi. Really enjoyed the walk and talk, lots of information especially about how people live in Innsbruck. Very grateful for such a pleasant afternoon.
Very interesting trip with many funny stories about the city and its inhabitants. Our guide (Elli) is super friendly. If you visit Innsbruck, you really want to have a guide tour like this!
I can’t thank Rudi enough for making us fall in love with Innsbruck. Through him, we discovered so much about the city—things no guidebook or blog could ever capture. Rudi took us to hidden gems, shared fascinating stories, and gave us a glimpse into the lives and culture of the people here.

Comparing this experience to the rest of my 15-day trip through Austria and Germany, nothing came close to what we experienced in Innsbruck. Rudi, with his kindness and warmth, inspired us in ways that words can hardly express. I’ve already recommended Innsbruck and the Innsbruck Greeters program to friends, encouraging them to add it to their itinerary. Greeters like Rudi are doing incredible work, and they deserve all the recognition for their dedication.
Thanks so much for “greeting” us yesterday! We enjoyed learning a bit about your life in Austria and exploring some Innsbruck neighborhoods. And thank you for your tips on transport, food, etc, not to mention your assist with the music festival tickets at Schloss Ambras (we loved it!!).
