We learned a lot about Tyrol and Innsbruck and very much enjoyed her company. The weather was wonderfull an contributed to a peacfull and charming morning.

The Greeter program – a wonderful way to see a city
Rudi was amazing, and exactly what our small group was looking for. Rudi was informative, interesting, a good listener who answered our many questions, and gave us wonderful information about the city, and great recommendations of how we could spend our time/what to see and do.

Time well spent with an Innsbruck greeter
Our walking tour with Rudi was one of the highlights of our time in Innsbruck. He was friendly, knowledgeable and he took us to some places and gave us inside explanations of things we couldn’t have gotten from anyone else.
He gave generously of his time and the whole experience made us feel very warmly toward Innsbruck.

Visit didn’t go ideally
My sister and I had the impression of accompanying our greeter to do her shopping. She first suggested we go to the market and told us about Austrian cheeses. We were happy to learn more, and we thought that she was buying a cheese because being in front of the stand had made her want to (and she very kindly let us taste it). But then, she took us into the old town and stopped in another store. She bought something again, and made us leave the old town as soon as it was over. So we didn’t see anything! After that, she showed us a beautiful view of Innsbruck, but she didn’t really tell us about the city.

Greeters show you a different side of the city
We really enjoyed our greet with Rudi, it was beyond our expectations :-). Rudi showed us the “extended version of Innsbruck” and gave us some very useful tips and advice. If all greeters are like Rudi, we will definitely have new greetings in the future 🙂

Wonderful morning in Innsbruck
Had an amazing walking tour with Bernhard!
When you visit a new city and have just a couple of hours available, one must quickly and efficiently get to all places of interest, and, (which is most difficult) — decide what to skip. This would be impossible to do on our own in the time we had.
Bernhard took us to the most iconic sites (Dom zu Sankt Jacob with Cranach’s Maria Hilf, the Golden Roof, Maria-Theresien-Straße, etc.) and complemented the sightseeing with the historical information and funny stories on everything from architecture to taxes and real estate development.
I wish we had more time to keep exploring, enjoy the views from the mountaintops as Bernhard suggested. Hope to visit again sooner rather than later, now that we know what else to see.

An Innsbruck Expert
Bernard speaks amazing English, showed us all the main sites of Innsbruck. He recommended cafe’s, restaurants and activities. His bar/cafe recommendations were 10/10 and we went back multiple times.
He gave us a tour of the free locations and explains the most cost effective ways to access the rest.

Nice visit with Martina
We met at the hotel’s lobby. She explained to us the story of the town and we looked at all the monuments with her. She spent three hours with us. We proposed her to have lunch with us but she didn’t have time for it.

Very good experience
